The Mahoning and Shenango Valleys Chapter (MSVC) of MOAA is pleased to host this year’s MOAA Ohio Council of Chapters State Convention. The event will take place Friday through Sunday, 22 – 24 September 2017, in the Community Activity Center (CAC) at the Youngstown Air Reserve Station (YARS), Vienna, OH. (Click for map.)
PLEASE NOTE: Military ID Card necessary for access to the base. If you don’t have a Military ID, your name and date of birth will have to be on the Base Entry Access Request ten days prior to the event, then you must show your driver’s license at the gate.
Brief agenda summary (click here to get the full schedule):
Friday, 22 Sept. Registration will begin at 1500 on Friday at the Eagle’s Nest Lodge. A Meet and Greet will be held in the CAC at 1800. Beverages (cash bar) and hors d’oeuvres will be available. The dress is casual.
Saturday, 23 Sept. The first full day of the Convention will kick off with a buffet breakfast at 0730 in the CAC. The opening ceremony will begin promptly at 0830.
The evening social begins at 1800 followed by the banquet at 1830. Dress is coat and tie.
Sunday, 24 Sept. A non-denominational Chapel Service will be held at 0730 for those that wish to attend, and a buffet breakfast at 0800. The quarterly meeting of the MOAA Ohio Council of Chapters will run from 0900 – 1200.

Please make your lodging reservations directly with the Eagle’s Nest Lodge at the YARS (Phone Number: 330-609-1268 or on-line: http://af.dodlodging.net/ and mention “MOAA Convention,” NLT 8 September. The room rate is $60 per night or VIP rate at $69 per night. Other lodging (Fairfield Inn, Holiday Inn, Residence Inn, or Hampton Inn) are available 8-miles from the YARS in the Warren/Niles Eastwood Mall area on State Route 46/Niles-Cortland Rd.
Gas Stations: There is a Sunoco gas station located in Vienna, 3.1 miles south from YARS on State Route 193 and a Country Fair convenience store 3.7 miles west down King Graves Road.
